Mission-Critical Architecture

A component failure should not stop the whole business.

Cerberox designs and implements resilient architectures for services your business depends on. The starting point is how much downtime you can tolerate and what it takes to recover.

Understand what can interrupt the service

A system can run on several servers and still depend on a single account, database or provider. We examine these concentrations to distinguish apparent redundancy from effective continuity.

The goals are practical: how long the service can remain unavailable and how much recent data could be lost. These are the questions behind recovery time and recovery point objectives, rather than abstract guarantees.

Design for operation and recovery

Depending on the circumstances, the architecture may include high availability, database replication, load balancing, failover and disaster recovery. Compute, storage and networking can come from third-party providers; Cerberox designs and implements the architecture above them.

Test recovery, not just the backup

A completed backup does not prove that a service can be restored. The project includes agreed recovery tests, the dependencies they need and usable procedures. Ongoing management is defined when required; availability and response commitments are set in the engagement.

This is an independent service. It does not require a separate Data Security engagement.

The next step

Let’s start with the actual problem.

Tell us what needs protecting and what the consequences of failure would be. We can then define a clear scope, responsibilities and next steps.
